The 2009 "Emerging Athletes' Sports School was held 17-21 January.
It was based at the Millennium Institute of Sport and Health in Mairangai Bay.

This year was a first in that skiing was added to the programme.

Left: Award for most improved performance in athletics went to Emma Foy from Dargaville - an all rounder!
Right: The male award for athletics went to Tamati Pearse from North Shore.

Left: Swimming's most improved female went to Emma Foy from Dargaville.
Right: Most improved male swimmer went to Josh Davies from Levin.
Presented by Blind Sport Board Member and swim coach Adam Pogson.

Overall award for most improvement over all sports went to Emma Foy from Dargaville.
Presented by Blind Sport Board Member Linda Shardlow.

This year the athletes voted for the Personality Award. They chose Mary Fisher from Upper Hutt; a well deserved winner.

SWIMMING

POWERLIFTING

SKIING
