SAO PAULO, BRASIL - 28th JULY to 8th August, 2007.

Our two Paralympians competed for places in the 2008 BEIJING Summer Paralympic Games.

These were the 3rd edition of the 4 yearly cycle of IBSA World Championships
The sports at these Championships and Games were athletics, 5-a-side football, goalball, judo, powerlifting and swimming.

The athletes:
Tim Prendergast
Tim Prendergast (Wellington) leading the pack in Athens. He is presently working in London where he is an athlete mentor. A gold medalist from the Athens Paralympics. Two silver medals from the Sydney Paralympics.

Tim won GOLD in the 5000m and SILVER in the 1500m.


Daniel Sharp
Daniel Sharp (Laingholm, Auckland) A bronze medalist in swimming from the Athens Paralympics. Five golds and a silver from the 2005 IBSA World Youth Championships.

Daniel won GOLD in the 200m breastroke and SILVER in the 100m breastroke.
