world championships Antayla, Turkey, 2011
The 4th IBSA (International Blind Sports Federation) World Championships and Games will be held in Antayla, Turkey in April 2011.For sports that lead to the 2012 Paralympic Games, it will be the last opportunity for athletes/teams to qualify for the London Games.
This will be the third IBSA World Championships for Blind Sport New Zealand since taking the IBSA membership in 2001.
The goal is to triple the size of the Quebec team for this event.
Athletes will have to meet qualifying standards in most sports.
The sports will be track and field, swimming, goalball, judo, 5-a-side football and powerlifting.
New Zealand's contribution will centre around athletics and swimming.
