IBSA WORLD YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, USA - 15th to 20th July, 2009.
HUNTING FOR GOLD!
Swimmers Mary Fisher (Upper Hutt) and Daniel Holt (Albany) are off to the International Blind Sports Federation
World Youth Championships.
Their aim is to defend the world titles they won in 2007. This time they are up against swimmers up to three years older.
This is a multi-sport event with athletics, goalball, judo and swimming.
The team in addition to Mary and Daniel will have Blind Sport CEO Ray Mcleod as Chief of Mission and Adam Pogson
will be the swim coach. They leave Auckland on 9th July heading for Seattle, Washington state for pre-games training
then to Colorado Springs to acclimatise to the altitude before the Championships start. Following the Championships
the team returns to New Zealand arriving on the 22nd July.

The athletics will be held at the Mary Grace complex in north Colorado Springs.
The goalball will be held at Colorado College which is also the accommodation base for the event. Judo and swimming
will be held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in central Colorado Springs.
